Setting up the iPhone for Exchange email
If you already have an email account set up in your iphone
then skip to the section entitled, "Setting up a secondary email account".
Setting up an email account for the first time
It's very easy to set up your iPhone to use your exchange for granted account. Go to the main
menu in your iPhone, and click on the "mail" icon. This will allow you to set up a new email
account. Skip the next section and read on from "Configuring the email account".
Setting up an additional email account
Setting up a second email account is very simple. From the main iPhone menu screen, select the
"settings" icon. This will take you to the settings screen, and from here you can scroll down
and select the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" menu option. Once in the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
menu section, you can add a new account by clicking the "Add Account" menu item.
Configuring the email account.
One you have the list of email providers on the screen, you should notice that the first one is
called "Microsoft Exchange". Click on this and it will take you to another screen which allows
you to set up email access for exchange.
Type in the following details on your iPhone:-
- Email - The email account you hold with Exchange For Granted - I.E testing@mydomain.com.
- Domain - This should be set to "steel.hosting.fmi" without the quotation marks.
- Username - This should be the same as your email address - I.E testing@mydomain.com.
- Password - This is your password for accessing your email account. Contact FMI if you don't have it.
- Description - This can be anything, but it is a good idea to set it to your email account name - I.E testing@mydomain.com.
Once this has been entered, click Next. The iPhone will search for the settings for your email server, which
might take a few moments. Once it has found the settings you should be able to click the "Next" button at the top right of the screen
which will take you to another screen. Make sure "mail" is selected, and then click "Done".
Now your iPhone should be set up to receive emails from your hosted email account.
